The Foundation of Abdul-Aziz Saudi king comes to sell an Amazigh-Arabic dictionary dating back nearly two centuries.
Originally, there was a manuscript whose original was completed in 1776 (2726 Amazigh calendar – 1190 AH) in the Souss region. The author was a scholar and alem Amazigh, by the name of Ibrahim Ben Ali Issafni Akkaoui by reference to the region, located in the Issafen, not far from Akka.
This scholar had developed for thirty years this dictionary which included 4,000 Amazigh words translated into Arabic. It is the second largest dictionary of its kind after that of Al Hilali that preceded it. And compared to Al Hilali, this dictionary is thicker and encyclopedic. Moreover, we learn a lot, over the words and explanations about daily life in the Souss at that time.
The document is annotated, presented and explained by Abdallah Khalil who did a painstaking job teaching.
The book is on sale for 250 DH in Morocco.
