February 21, 2015 | 8:00 p.m. Kamel Cheriti The World Day of the mother tongue celebrated yesterday was a historic moment for the generalization in Algeria in teaching the Amazigh language. High Commission for Amazigh signed this path a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Education to the progressive enlargement of the teaching of the language, central to our identity. This roadmap was initialed HCA side by its Secretary General, Si El Hachemi Assad and Mrs. Nuria Benghebrit, Minister of Education. Last Saturday it was in this context, the installation ceremony in the spaces of the El-Kheyyam room, formerly Debussy, the Joint Committee which will be responsible for implementation of this MOU. The Commission is composed of seven members for the HCA and the same number for the Ministry of Education. “After a diagnosis on the balance sheet of Tamazigt teaching introduced for twenty years, we will explore ways and avenues for its expansion,” says the side of HCA Zahir Meksel, lecturer at the University of Bejaia. In terms of Education, Mr. Brahim Abassi, Inspector General of pedagogy states, “Our first meeting will be held in two weeks. We will accompany the new structures of Tamazight teaching with all the logistics of Education. ” In her address, Ms. Nuria Benghebrit stressed the importance of the Amazigh in our society, a leading heritage that must be preserved and developed. In the progressive development of the teaching of the Amazigh language, Mr. Si El Hachemi Assad plans in a short period the passage of this teaching eleven wilayas currently twenty-four and later in the rest of the other wilayas. He said that the teaching skills exist to this expansion and that the demand side, it is great, witness the will of the people to see that language teaching in light of many days of studies this year the north, south and the deep south of Algeria. If Mr. El Hachemi Assad even provides for the extension of this education outside our borders for our compatriots living in France, Egypt and Canada. The World Day of the mother tongue was marked in El Khayyam by an artistic and cultural morning presented brilliantly by Beni Salah Fadli Izguen and participation of the choir of the college of Bouabderahmane Ouacifs. This program has been enhanced by the recital flute Sandra Hamaidi, also native to Ouacifs, performing a composition by the late Kheddam Cherif, and the projection of an animated film made entirely by children Boussemghoun, a city the wilaya of El Bayadh where the population is entirely rooted in Amazigh.
